The prefecture of Oise unveiled this Wednesday a campaign to prevent domestic violence.

It will take the form of sachets, intended to pack medicines in pharmacies, on which the telephone numbers for the victims are printed.

100,000 bags will be supplied to the 219 pharmacies in the department, specifies

A rise in cases

The gendarmes of Oise intervened more than 4,000 times for acts of domestic violence in 2021. 2,342 victims were counted, an annual increase of 27%.

"If we detect a single situation of violence thanks to this, it will already be won," said Chief Warrant Officer Forestier, referent for this type of violence.

Grégory Tempremant, president of the Regional Union of Pharmacist Health Professionals of Hauts-de-France, explained that each pharmacy would be allocated around 250 sachets.

Pharmacists will choose who to give them to “without stigma” after “targeting and tracing”, he said.
