In the case of Madeleine McCann, who disappeared 15 years ago, there are apparently new indications of an involvement of the convicted German sex offender Christian B. A spokesman for the Braunschweig public prosecutor's office told the Portuguese television channel CMTV that there are new facts and evidence in the "Maddie" case that point to pointed.

However, this evidence is not "forensic".

When asked by the reporter, the authority spokesman did not deny that it was a trace or an object of Madeleine in the mobile home used by B. at the time.

The 45-year-old Christian B. denies any involvement in the disappearance of the then three-year-old Madeleine McCann from a holiday resort in the Portuguese Algarve.

The spokesman for the authorities said, however, that the investigators had no doubts.

"We are certain that he killed Madeleine McCann."

Christian B. is currently serving a several-year prison sentence for rape in Oldenburg.

A few days ago he was also declared a suspect by the Portuguese authorities.

This step was probably taken to prevent a statute of limitations.

Madeleine's parents, Kate and Gerald McCann, said on the anniversary of her disappearance on May 3 that they still have hope their daughter is alive, although after 15 years the chances are slim.
