Survivors tell horrific testimonies from the "death boat" in Lebanon

Eyewitnesses and survivors of the "death boat" gave horrific stories and testimonies about the boat carrying illegal immigrants, off the Lebanese city of Tripoli.

The newspaper quoted a woman who lost her daughter and granddaughter (without finding them yet): "They are not warriors and do not carry weapons. They are just fugitives from this country."

She added, "Provide us a happy life so that we can stay here on our land... God will take revenge on everyone who did this to us and dragged us to the sea."

Amid Dandshi, a grieving father who lost a wife and three children whose bodies have not yet been found, said: "Here they do not find medicine if they need it or a carton of milk, and they cannot enter a hospital if they have to, not even bear the fare of a school bus or school fees," adding: "They became martyrs and attained the highest ranks of martyrdom..They no longer need a future..I wanted a new and dignified life for my family..I wanted to reach Europe to secure a foreign passport for my son that would give him a dignified life in the future, but the army prevented me..why? He guarantees me a dignified life in Lebanon? Why weren't we allowed to continue the journey?"

The newspaper quoted Amid Dandshi, "who rushed to throw himself into the sea, and started helping those who were floating on the surface of the water" as saying: "Our children and women were unconscious in front of us...I tried to rescue a woman and started hitting her on her back so that she would spit water and wake up, so she regained consciousness and told someone Young children would have to cling to my shoulder to take it to the army boat, and I used to pray to my Lord that someone would mock me to save my wife, my daughter and my son as I saved others.. I used to see the bodies floating in front of me while I was praying and praying.

The newspaper pointed out that "Raed Dandshi, brother of Dean, also carried his family, his wife and three children, to be with his brother in the search for a future, while he was arrested by the security forces, and he did not say goodbye to his 10-year-old child, Bahaa, who drowned in Al-Bahr, and his wife, a nymph, was still missing until the sea released her body later in the Chekka area, while his daughter Ghazal is still missing,” as “the Dandshi family lost 10 of their sons.”

The newspaper pointed out that their grieving grandmother was screaming: "10 souls left my house, why did they kill me, oh? God burns his heart from the burning of our hearts and the death of our children."

As Taymour al-Dandashy, one of the uncles and brother of Amid and Raed, explained, "We lost 9 children with their mothers. They left because they wanted to reach a country where they feel that they are human beings."
