Actor David Dencik is previously known for playing roles as supervillains and psychopaths.

In "Diorama" he plays the character Björn - an "ordinary" man who works in an office.

- All the roles I played have been close to myself, but sometimes they do things that are far from me.

There are things my roles, including Björn, have done that I myself would not do, says David Dencik.

Playing Björn, says David Dencik, came naturally, as he sees many similarities between Björn and himself.

- High recognition factor, you could say.

It was very beneficial to play those scenes, it came very easily.

Explores duality

Actor and director Tuva Novotny has both directed and written the script for Diorama.

The film follows the couple Frida and Björn, from love and family formation to betrayal and breakup.

The relationship drama is combined with elements of scientific studies, conversations with researchers and examples from the animal world.

- Much of the research that exists on duality and pairing is done on animals.

I thought, well, duality studies on field mice, it can be great fun to watch, says Tuva Novotny.

The idea for the film came from his own interest in investigating duality and monogamous relationships, says Tuva Novotny.

- Sometimes you can get a really nice feeling from being confirmed in seeing a reality that you recognize.

There, the idea arose that researchers themselves could put words to and explain what happens in our bodies when we form couples.

Diorama will have its cinema premiere on May 6, 2022.
