In a large-scale operation, the police in Bavaria searched the apartments of suspected owners of child pornography.

There had been 15 searches and investigations were being carried out against 19 men, the police said on Monday.

The investigators spoke of a "success in the fight against child and youth pornography".

The operations in the city and district of Würzburg and in the Main-Spessart district were therefore already last Wednesday and Thursday.

120 electronic devices and storage media were seized.

The police said that evidence had already been found on some of them that substantiated the suspicion of individual suspects.

The accused are between 16 and 70 years old.

There is currently no connection between the cases.

There were also operations in Upper Bavaria: The police found child pornographic material on three men aged 18, 37 and 63 from the Rosenheim district.

The police said on Monday that data carriers, computers and mobile phones had been confiscated during apartment searches.
