Bill Gates warns: The Corona virus pandemic is not over yet

Microsoft founder and billionaire Bill Gates warned that the Corona virus pandemic is not over yet, and that "there could still be another type that is more widespread and more deadly."

In an interview with the Financial Times, Gates said that "we haven't seen the worst yet," noting that while he doesn't want to be "a pessimistic voice, the risk of a more virulent variant emerging is well over five percent".

He stated, "We are still at risk of this epidemic, which generates variants that can be more transmissible, and even more deadly," stressing that "long-term vaccines that prevent infection are urgently needed."

Gates called for the creation of a team of international experts, ranging from epidemiologists to computer designers, to identify threats and improve international coordination, in addition to forming a global response team to epidemics, run by the World Health Organization, stressing that additional investment in this area is "vital."

"It seems to me strange that we might fail to look at this tragedy and not make these investments on behalf of the citizens of the world," he added.
