With the issuance of the decision of the Dubai Land Department, through its regulatory arm, the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA), to penalize nine real estate brokers by suspending them from practicing business for a period of three months, after committing a violation of unwanted calls, we all had to thank all the employees in the department, and present a rose gratitude to them.

And the matter did not stop there, but the real estate brokerage office in which they work was also fined 50 thousand dirhams, after the office committed a violation of unwanted calls, and disturbed investors and dealers through marketing or promoting its services through direct contact.

In the wake of this punishment, many contacted me via social media, to inquire about the mechanism for reporting annoying real estate calls.

Finally, the complaint of many was about receiving many marketing and promotional calls, offering them to buy real estate inside and outside the country, and other services, at different times of the day and night, which raises the question about how these companies obtain the numbers.

At the same time, companies exercise constant pressure, despite the customers’ rejection of the offered plans. Individuals are surprised by continuous calls, from more than one company employee, to offer projects that were offered and rejected.

Here, the appropriate mechanism for reporting annoying calls, which is very simple, must be clarified. The matter is summarized in downloading the “Dubai Rest” application, which is the smart real estate platform for real estate services affiliated with the Land Department, which includes a real estate complaint registration service, which includes three types of complaints. First: complaints of real estate violations.

The second: Inquiries about real estate disputes.

The third: Reporting annoying calls, which is concerned with this article, after which the third option is pressed, to put your personal data (your name, phone number and email), and the data of the defendant (his name, phone number or email - if any), with attaching documents, and then Taking a screenshot, attaching it to the complaint, and its details that contain annoying calls.

After that, the complaint reaches the relevant department in the Land Department, and they immediately contact you, taking legal action.

This way you will have reported the spam calls, which helps to eliminate unwanted communications from the real estate brokers, and ensures effective communication only when the owner wants to be contacted by the brokers.

The project also helps reduce real estate violations related to direct marketing, and opens additional marketing channels for real estate companies, which ultimately leads to an increase in the rate of real estate sales, and the rental of vacant properties, to serve both the owner and the tenant.

With the Land Department continuing to strike violators with an iron fist, and announcing their names periodically, this will help mitigate or prevent annoying calls permanently.

The department, and its regulatory arm (RERA), were able to achieve a qualitative leap and tangible achievements on the ground, thanks to the formulation, issuance and application of clear and integrated real estate laws and regulations that preserve the rights of all parties.

The Real Estate Regulatory Agency has always called on investors, real estate owners and the general public to report any annoying calls they receive from real estate companies operating in the Dubai real estate market, with the aim of promoting and marketing real estate.
