"Nothing special today.

Am in Lviv.

Got me a coffee.

And there is Angelina Jolie," writes the Ukrainian Maya Pidhorodetska on her Facebook account for a video that shows the Hollywood star entering a café.

The actress signs autographs in casual gray pants and a wide wool sweater, while the filming Ukrainian quickly holds her coffee mug in front of the camera, on which a quote from the Ukrainian writer Ivan Franko is printed, which speaks of the power of truth.

How much truth there is behind such pictures that circulated on social networks at the weekend is sometimes difficult to determine.

But the fact is that Jolie was traveling with her own team in the western Ukrainian city of Lemberg (Lviv) on Saturday.

"This visit was a surprise for all of us," regional governor Maxim Kosyzki wrote in the online service Telegram.

Photos and videos were shared on social networks showing Jolie talking to volunteers who provide psychological help to people who have fled to Lviv.

In a video, Jolie speaks to the volunteers about trauma and expresses her appreciation for the work of the volunteers.

Another shows her flirting with a little girl.

Additional photos show the actress visiting children in a hospital.

In addition, Ukrainian media released a short video showing Jolie frantically exiting the train station, surrounded by her team, while the air raid sirens wailed.

When asked by a film actor if she was scared, the actress replies with a nonchalant "I'm okay".

After Sean Penn, Jolie is the second American filmmaker to visit Ukraine.

The actress has been a special envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) for more than 20 years and has traveled to many crisis areas in this capacity.

In March she traveled to Yemen to draw attention to the situation of refugee families as a UNHCR ambassador.

However, the trip to Lemberg seems to have been a private initiative of the actress.
