Since April 29, the Jazz à Ouaga festival has been celebrating its 30th anniversary.

It is one of the oldest on the continent with that of Saint-Louis in Senegal.

Nearly 100 artists from around the world are scheduled until May 7, with Cheick Tidiane Seck, Bassekou Kouyaté and Sékou Bembeya as headliners.

The festival is being held as Burkina Faso is going through difficult times.

Abdoulaye Diallo, president of the association Jazz in Ouaga, is the guest of RFI.
