On April 28, in Feidong County, Hefei City, Xu Luping, wearing a reflective vest and hard hat as usual, shuttled through the beam-making field to check the quality of each box beam.

  [Explanation] Like most "post-80s" migrant workers, Xu Luping, who was born in Feidong County, Anhui Province in 1980, grew up in a rural family with many brothers and sisters and parents who made a living from farming.

During high school, he had to drop out of school at the age of 16 to go to work because of his difficult family circumstances.

  At our age, we basically went out to work after dropping out of school. It was the first time I went to Shanghai International Airport, and I worked as a mason when it was first built.

But I have experienced many types of jobs during my part-time job (in the process), including bricklayers, carpenters, electric welders, maintenance workers, and decorators. Anyway, I have worked a lot, probably at least ten or twenty types.

  [Explanation] "The sky will be assigned a great responsibility to the people of Sri Lanka, and you must first suffer your will and work your muscles and bones..." From 1999 to 2008, Xu Luping participated in the Xiaogan Huanshui Lake Bridge in Hubei and the Hangzhou Bay Cross-sea Bridge. Prestressed tension construction of bridges such as Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway, Hebeng high-speed railway, Hefei-Fuzhou railway and Lianyan railway.

Different work experience may be a kind of tempering for Xu Luping.

Beginning in 2008, Xu Luping used what he had learned, felt, and used to carry out technological transformation and innovation in response to practical problems encountered in his work. change.

  I was also inadvertently working on a project at Hebong Customer Specialization, and it was also a beam farm. In order to facilitate my own work, I invented an "automatic stranding machine for steel strands", which may have been nothing to me at the time, I personally I just think that I invent something just to reduce my labor intensity and improve my work efficiency.

At that time, the project said: "A migrant worker's education level is not high, but he can invent and create by himself." I reported my affairs to the company. At that time, I happened to be named "China Railway Model Worker". The company summarized, the company said whether it can bring such people into the company.

I said that the employees in this enterprise are all literate people. I am a migrant worker and have no culture. I said, will I be able to adapt to the development of the enterprise?

Later, the leader talked to me and he said: "As long as you are willing to study hard, I believe that you can adapt to the needs of our enterprise development."

  [Explanation] In this way, Xu Luping was recognized by the company for his love of thinking and willingness to study.

The "automatic steel strand threading machine" invented by him has been successfully extended to nearly 10 beam yard in Donghai County of Lianyan Railway and beam yard in Longcheng District of Beijing-Shenzhen Passenger Line. This alone saves costs for the project. nearly three million yuan.

In addition, Xu Luping has innovated and transformed various techniques, procedures and tools nearly 70 times during his work.

The progress of his career has also made Xu Luping the winner of the top ten "Most Beautiful Migrant Workers" in Anhui Province, the "May 1st Labor Medal" in Anhui Province, and the winner of the national "May 1st Labor Medal".

In April 2018, Xu Luping was elected as the part-time vice chairman of the Anhui Federation of Trade Unions.

Although he was honored, he never forgot his "background", and he always remembered the migrant workers brothers in his heart.

  The mission is glorious and the responsibility is heavy.

Because after being elected as the (part-time) vice chairman of the (Anhui) Federation of Trade Unions, I must not only stick to my own job, but also perform the duties of the vice chairman of the (Anhui) Federation of Trade Unions migrant workers. Of course, what to do in this process is also I include questions that I have been thinking about now and in the future.

The real trade union is the family of migrant workers. When they encounter difficulties and their rights and interests cannot be protected, we must give full play to the role of the trade union as a bridge.

  [Explanation] Xu Luping has worked for 26 years, from a migrant worker to a project leader, and now he is doing the work of seeking welfare for more migrant workers.

Along the way, he not only witnessed the rapid development of the motherland, but also deeply realized the concern of the whole society for this group of migrant workers.

  Especially the migrant workers who went out to work in the 1990s, because the environment in which we worked at that time was good, including living and working (conditions) were quite difficult. If we compare it with the present, it is simply a different world. In our current environment, wherever we go, the project is equipped with air conditioners, baths, activity rooms, and entertainment rooms, which were not available before.

Including our current construction environment is also good, the roads are greened, and our station is cleaned every day by special personnel. In the past, the station used to build a shed by itself, and it rained heavily outside and leaked light rain inside.

Another is that in the past, the biggest concern of migrant workers was the wage issue. At that time, it was basically the end of the year, and it was not paid until the end of the year. Now it is basically monthly. Therefore, priority is given to guaranteeing the wages of migrant workers.

From these three points, a comparison is simply earth-shaking changes.
