The “Hunger Games” prequel will be released in the fall of 2023

We finally know the release date in the United States.

, the prequel to the

saga , will be released across the Atlantic on November 17, 2023, for Thanksgiving.

The information was revealed Thursday by Lionsgate during CinemaCon in Las Vegas, reports Variety in particular.

This new installment will take place several decades before the

of Katniss (played by Jennifer Lawrence in the trilogy), and will be the adaptation of the novel

by Suzanne Collins released in 2020.

The film will thus look into the fate of young Coriolanus Snow, the future tyrannical President Snow, played by Donald Sutherland in The

.

The cast is not yet known, apart from the director Francis Lawrence, as the Allociné site claims.
