Snapchat has announced the introduction of a new service for members of this global social networking platform. This service will make it easier for selfie lovers and give them a new and awaited special, with a small plane called pixy, whose mission is to help in the selfie, especially when no one is available to take pictures of you.

And Pixy is the name of the little drone that can act as a personal camera when you can't ask someone to take a video of you.

Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel presented the new invention during the keynote of the Snap Partner Summit, noting that it's "pocket-sized" and "a free-to-air buddy for adventures big and small."

Pixy is no ordinary drone as there is no controller and no SD card, it also has four pre-configured flight paths.

You can tell Pixy to float, spin around, or follow you as you walk or run.

You can also select the correct mode, press the button and Pixy releases from your hand.

And when you want to stop recording, put your hand under the drone.

Pixy will automatically land in the palm of your hand.

Pixy shoots 2.7K videos and 12MP photos.

It is extremely lightweight, weighing only 101g with the replaceable battery included.

With one charge, you can take five to eight flights.

According to TechCrunch.

Once the drone has finished shooting a video, you can open Snapchat on your phone.

Videos from your flights are automatically transmitted wirelessly to your phone.

By default, it will be stored in your Snapchat Memories.

And of course, you can then watch, edit, send and share these videos.

If you are already familiar with the editing features of Snapchat, you will be able to use the same editing tools for your Pixy videos.

You can also apply some effects to your videos, such as Hyperspeed, Bounce, Orbit 3D, and Jump Cut.

Although, there are limits to the use cases of Pixy, in many places, you cannot legally use drones.

For example, drones are banned in Paris.

Not just some areas, but the entire city of Paris.

The plane comes in a yellow color, and will initially be available in the United States and France for $229.99.
