New film As Bestas, the western by Rodrigo Sorogoyen in the emptied Spain
The Spanish-French film
As bestas
, the new work by director Rodrigo Sorogoyen, will be screened out of competition at the next
Cannes Film Festival
, which will be held from May 17 to 28, within the Cannes Premiere section, the organization announced today.

, a French documentary by Mélanie
Diam's
, Houda Benyamina and Anne Cissé,
will also be presented as a special screening .
The presence of Sorogoyen's latest film

enriches the scarce presence of Spanish cinema in this 75th edition of the festival, which will only have one film in the official section,
Tourment sur les îles,
by the director Albert Serra.
In addition, the film
El agua
, by Elena López Riera, will participate in the Directors' Fortnight.
In Critics' Week there will be two Spanish shorts:
Cuerdas, by Estíbaliz Urresola, and Nisam je stigao voljeti
, by Anna Fernández de Paco, who will attend with a co-production with Bosnia and the United Kingdom.
Likewise, the actress Rossy de Palma will chair the jury of the Golden Chamber section, aimed at rewarding young talents
