Illustrator and comics writer Frank Miller, who worked for DC Comics for a long time, opened his own publishing house.

The company was named Frank Miller Presents, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Miller serves as president and editor-in-chief.

He will produce his own comics, as well as collaborate with other artists, both experienced and emerging.

Together with Frank Miller, former DC Comics employee Dan DiDio (Justice League Dark, Metal Men) and film producer Sylenne Thomas work in the new publishing house - in her filmography such films as 300 Spartans and Sin City 2: A woman worth killing for.

He noted that the publisher's goal is "to create a fraternity of authors and illustrators to mentor, collaborate and promote the growth of not only each other, but the art of comics as a whole."

Frank Miller Presents plans to release two to four projects a year.

Already announced is Sin City 1858, a western prequel to a line that came out in the 1990s and 2000 under the auspices of the independent publisher Dark Horse Comics.

Another Frank Miller Presents project is Ronin.

Book Two, a continuation of a story released by DC in the 1980s.

The second part will focus on a Japanese warrior reincarnated in a bleak future.

The publishing house will also publish original works - the Pandora and Ancient Enemies projects have already been announced.

What exactly Miller himself will work on is still unknown. 

The first Frank Miller Presents comics are expected to go on sale in late 2022 and will be available in both print and digital formats.

Frank Miller worked for DC Comics for over 40 years and is best known for his film noir projects.

He made a big contribution to the industry through his involvement in the creation of Batman comics.

According to the publisher, Miller's rethinking and revival of Bruce Wayne forever turned the hero from a simple cloaked crime fighter into a creature that lurks in the darkness and fights for justice in criminal Gotham.

With his work, Miller changed the understanding of comics - he began to create works that could be of interest to everyone, regardless of age.   

Many of Frank Miller's works were popular with audiences and highly acclaimed by critics.

However, some comics were received cool.

In particular, the All-Star Batman series did not live up to the expectations of experts.

It was called too long, and the characters were considered insufficiently developed.

In 2011, Miller's work was criticized by comic book writer Alan Moore (Watchmen, V for Vendetta).

He stated that his colleague's "Sin City" turned out to be misogynistic, and the "300" project turned out to be ahistorical and homophobic.

In Frank Miller's graphic novel Holy Terror, critics found signs of Islamophobia.

According to Michael Hernandez, author of The National, Miller's work presents an unflattering portrayal of Muslims - the author mixes them with terrorists.

Frank Miller has become a prominent figure in the cinema.

As a director, he worked on the 2008 film The Avenger and on the Sin City series with Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez.

According to his works, the paintings "300 Spartans", "Electra" and others were shot.

In 2020, the Cursed series based on the book of the same name by Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler was released on the Netflix video service.

In it, the authors rethought the myth of King Arthur.
