  Shaanxi Archaeological Museum is a special museum that relies on the field archaeological work practice of Shaanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology and scientific and technological research results of cultural relics protection over the years.

  The museum has an indoor exhibition area of ​​5,800 square meters and an outdoor exhibition area of ​​10,000 square meters. There are 5,215 cultural relics in 4,218 groups on display.

The permanent exhibition is themed on "Archaeological Holy Land Huazhang Shaanxi" and is divided into four chapters: "Archaeological History", "Cultural Genealogy", "Archaeological Discovery" and "Cultural Protection Technology".

The temporary exhibition hall is mainly used to display the latest major archaeological discoveries and special research results.

Outdoors, there are field archaeology theme exhibition areas, ceramic stone carving cultural relics exhibition areas, etc.

  The permanent exhibition is the basic display of Shaanxi archaeological history, reflecting the history and future direction of Chinese archaeology with the occurrence and development of Shaanxi archaeology, so as to achieve the purpose of popularizing archaeological knowledge to the public.

  It is understood that the stone carvings, murals and musical instruments of the Shimao site, the bronzes of the Western Zhou Dynasty, the twenty-eight constellations map with the four elements of star shape, number of stars, images and inscriptions discovered for the first time in Chinese archaeology, Yan Zhenqing Shudan's "Luo Wanshun Epitaph" , Shangguan Wan'er's epitaph and other precious cultural relics are met with the audience at the museum.

  In the museum, there are many exhibits that are protected and restored with new concepts and advanced technologies, such as the Zhou Dynasty wooden figurines obtained by pouring gypsum liquid in a complete form, the Tang Dynasty led camel figurines that have survived for thousands of years, and the overall "packed". The chariot and horse pits of the Western Zhou Dynasty and the mural tombs of the Yuan Dynasty were completely moved into the museum.
