11 people died off the coast of the Shiretoko Peninsula in Hokkaido, and 15 people went missing. We are continuing to grasp the actual situation of whether there were any safety management problems, such as the decision to set sail with the ship.

On the 23rd of this month, a tour boat "KAZU 1" (19 tons) carrying 26 passengers and crew was distressed while sailing off the coast of the Shiretoko Peninsula, killing 11 passengers found so far and other Fifteen are still missing.

In this accident, Seiichi Katsura, president of the sightseeing boat operator "Shiretoko Tour Boat", said at the meeting on the 27th that the captain reported that he could sail on the morning of the accident, so that the sea would be rough. If so, he revealed that he decided to set sail in the form of a conditional flight.

It was also known that sufficient communication means were not secured between the company and the ship due to equipment failure, and the 1st Regional Coast Guard Headquarters continued to check if there were any safety management problems in the background of the accident. We are proceeding with understanding the actual situation.

On the other hand, the search continues around the sea area on the 28th, which is the 6th day after the accident.

However, due to the high waves, local fishing boats have not participated in the search, and according to the Japan Coast Guard, as of 11:00 am, no new clues leading to the discovery of the missing person have been found.
