Publications accusing Al-Ahram editor-in-chief of persecuting a journalist who committed suicide inside the institution

Journalist Alaa Thabet, editor-in-chief of Al-Ahram newspaper, responded to Mahmoud Kamel, a member of the Journalists Syndicate, regarding what he posted on the social networking site Facebook, that the late Emad El-Feki was subjected to clear and systematic persecution by the editor-in-chief of Al-Ahram.

Thabet said, in a post on his page on the social networking site Facebook: With all the prayers for mercy and forgiveness for the dear late colleague, Professor / Imad Al-Feki, I regret that I am forced, sorry and pained to participate in a sterile controversy. An outpouring of his fans after the tragic tragedy of his passing.

Thabet continued: I firmly affirm that everything published by my colleague Mahmoud Kamel, a member of the Journalists Syndicate Council, is a sheer lie and slander inspired by a sick imagination that seeks to achieve mysterious and incomprehensible purposes through trafficking in the tragedy of the late colleague. If any of the incentives or profits have been deducted for the deceased colleague since 2017 until now, I accuse my colleague Mahmoud Kamel of willful lying and violating norms, principles and the professional code of honor.

And the editor-in-chief of Al-Ahram continued, according to “Cairo 24”: I confirm that the colleague does not have any complaints in the records of Al-Ahram, the syndicate, or the media councils, and I announce that I will file an official complaint against the lying colleague who deals with the pain of colleagues to the Public Prosecution and a documented official complaint to the National Press Authority, as well as a union complaint to the Syndicate journalists.

Thabet concluded: I appeal to colleagues to judge for themselves what the colleague committed against the profession, the union, and even all the members of the General Assembly of the Journalists Syndicate.

The journalist Mahmoud Kamel had written, on his official Facebook page, a while ago, that the late Imad El-Feki was persecuted by Alaa Thabet: saying: All the colleagues in Al-Ahram who slept with the late colleague Emad El-Feki know well that in the last 4 years he was subjected to clear and frank persecution It was systematic from Alaa Thabet, editor-in-chief of Al-Ahram, persecution that amounted to deducting all incentives and profits over these years, persecution that prevented him from practicing his journalistic work informally and without reason and without instructions because no one says instructions, in addition to exceeding him several times in his promotion to the head of his department.

And he continued: The late al-Fiqi chose to send a message from the place of his departure to every unjust editor-in-chief, the head of the National Press Authority and its members, and to the Syndicate of Journalists and members of its council, and to every press leadership that practices oppression and subjugation of men.
