The Regenerative Medicine Safety Assurance Law stipulates procedures for performing regenerative medicine such as stem cell therapy, and since it has been five years since its enforcement, studies are underway for review.



In the proposal for the direction of the review approved this time, gene therapy that directly administers genes as a technique that became popular after the enactment of the law will be added to the regulation target, and the treatment plan necessary for regenerative medicine will be examined. It included measures such as taking appropriate measures to improve the quality of the disease.



The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has a policy of proceeding with work toward revision of the law based on the summarized contents.
