Musician Andrew Woolfolk, former member of the band Earth, Wind and Fire, died at the age of 71 after six years of battling an illness, announced several American media, including Variety.

The information was confirmed by Philip Bailey, close to the saxophonist, singer and current member of the formation, on his Instagram account.

"I met him in high school, and we quickly became friends and bandmates," he wrote.

(…) He went to eternity, from this land of the dying to the land of the living.

I have great memories of it.

A great talent.

Funny.

Competitive.

A sharp mind.

And always stylish.

Booski... I'll see you on the other side, my friend.
