Dr. Nabil Al-Awadi saw that the name of forgiveness is one of the greatest names of God Almighty, and that one of the greatest things a servant asks his Lord to pardon him, and he mentioned the story of Mrs. Aisha, may God be pleased with her, who asked the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, what do you say on the Night of Decree? He said to her: “Oh God! You are forgiving and you love to forgive, so forgive me.”

And he added - in his talk to the episode 27/2022 of the program “Shari’ah and Life in Ramadan” - that the greatest forgiveness is for a person to forgive those who wronged him while he is able to do it, and he cited the Messenger’s forgiveness for the people of Makkah on the day of its conquest, where he said: Go, you are free..” And that was despite the injustice he suffered from them for 21 years, 13 years before the emigration and 8 years after the emigration, as they killed the people he loved and shed the blood of his companions, insulted him, and expelled him from the country he loved.

He said that forgiveness is great with God, but sometimes it is harmful to society, and therefore the punishment is better in the interest of the person concerned.

He pointed out that the Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, upon the conquest of Makkah, ordered the killing of those who were harmful to society, and said, “Kill them, even if you find them clinging to the curtains of the Kaaba.” But when he believed Ka’b bin Zuhair’s repentance, he did not come to Medina surrendering, and he pardoned him, even though he wasted his blood.

The Islamic preacher mentioned some incidents that show the status of forgiveness with God Almighty and with His Noble Messenger, including the incident of the elderly man who came to the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, and told him that if I had sins and disobedience, if they were distributed to the people of the earth, I would have destroyed them all, but the Messenger upon him is the best prayer and peace said to him “Do you bear witness that there is no god but God and that I am Muhammad is the Messenger of God?” The man replied, “Yes.” So the Messenger advised him to do good deeds and leave bad ones, but the old man kept asking questions about his sins and disobedience, so the Holy Prophet replied that God replaces bad deeds with good deeds.

And he narrated the incident of Maymoon bin Mahran, who was brought to him by a slave girl, and the broth fell on him.

Caliph Abu Bakr pardoned his relative

Dr. Nabil Al-Awadi also cited the incident of the Caliph Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, may God be pleased with him, who was spending on one of his relatives in Medina. Surat Al-Nur "and Aotl Ulu thanks and amplitude that Iwtwa initial kin and the poor and immigrants for the sake of God and to forgive and forgive not love God to forgive you and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful." retreated Abu Bakr about his decision and continued to provide his expense to his neighbor.

The guest of the episode "Shari'a and Life in Ramadan" highlighted the context of his talk about people who accumulate grudges and enmities in their souls, and how they suffer from internal psychological problems and insomnia, and because God is forgiveness, the person who wants to forgive must forgive others, and if he wants forgiveness from May God forgive others, and if mercy is from God, let him have mercy on others.
