The book looks back - but is also very much about Anna Björklund's own experiences.

About household, work, sex and health.

- The book was born out of the fact that I thought it was very difficult to become a woman, perhaps more difficult than what I was told.

- It starts with the most basic: how to support myself, how to avoid being so heavenly alone, how to eat and sleep.

I struggled with all that and there was not really any help to be had.

Then it works its way up to happiness, peace and meaning.

Anna Björklund was previously one of the members of the now defunct podcast Della Q. The podcast was debated for its neo-conservative line and was criticized by some for pushing for a decline in feminism - with the housewife ideal, where the family was put before the career.

Anna Björklund says that she does not see "Kvinnomanualen" as a political book or debate entry.

- I do not want to organize any resistance movement or so.

I use historical examples, such as the Old Testament and Greek mythology, to try to find something that lasts over time and takes into account how people actually work - rather than just how one thinks politically it should be.
