The jury selects the winners of the festival prizes, not least the finest award Palme d'Or.
21 films are competing for the prize this year, including Ali Abbasi's Holy Spider, Ruben Östlund's Triangle of Sadness and Tarik Saleh's Boy from Heaven.
This year's jury consists of the chairman, the French actor Vincent Lindon and eight members, including the Norwegian director Joachim Trier and the British actress Rebecca Hall.

Few Swedes have joined the jury over the years.
Among others, the actress Bibi Anderson who sat with 1972, the photographer Sven Nykvist 1990 and the actress Lena Olin who participated in 1998.
This year's Cannes Film Festival will take place May 17-28.
