Johnny Depp has finished testifying in the trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

In 2018, the actress wrote an op-ed for The Washington Post, in which she admitted that she had been harassed and abused in her youth, but remained silent because she did not believe that she could achieve justice.

She noted that two years ago she became "a public face of domestic violence and felt the full force of our culture's dislike for women who tell the truth."

Heard did not name specific names in the material, but Depp took the words personally and accused his ex-wife of spreading defamatory information.

The actor is seeking $50 million in damages.

The process began on April 11.

Depp's lawyers told the jury that "what is attributed to him is a lie" and Amber Heard's claims have no evidence.

In addition, lawyers on the part of the actor suggested that the column was written to draw public attention to the film "Aquaman" with Heard.

Representatives of the actress, in turn, dispute Depp's position and declare his often "paranoid" and "out of touch with reality" behavior.

Johnny Depp testified for several days.

According to him, "the so-called substance abuse referred to by Ms. Heard is incredibly exaggerated and, forgive me, in many ways an outright lie."

The actor revealed that he started taking his mother's "nerve pills" at the age of 11 to "relieve stress" from her abuse.

He emphasized that drugs and alcohol became a treatment for him.

Commenting on various messages to friends, in which Depp, among other things, threatened to kill Heard and desecrate her corpse, the artist noted that it was black humor that helped him cope with pain.

“I am ashamed of some of the things that were voiced and the tone that, under the influence of the impulse or the pain that I felt, left much to be desired,” the actor says.

During one of the meetings, Johnny Depp spoke about the circumstances of the quarrel with Amber Heard, which occurred on May 21, 2016.

By that time, the artists had already decided to divorce, and Depp came for things.

He also planned to talk about a photo he saw after he moved out.

The picture showed a bed of artists, on which lay feces - dog, according to Heard (however, Johnny Depp did not believe her).

During his arrival, the actress talked about this with her friend on the phone.

Depp grabbed the phone and threw it on the couch.

Heard screamed, “Stop hitting me, Johnny,” but, as Depp noted, he did not approach her at that moment.

After that, two friends of the actor entered the penthouse.

In their presence, Amber Heard turned to Depp with the words: "You won't hit me again."

Later that month, she posted photos showing bruises on her face.

During another fight, Johnny Depp lost a fingertip.

According to him, this happened after Amber Heard threw a bottle of vodka at him.

“My hand was on the edge of the bar, and she threw a large bottle that hit (at me. -

) and shattered, and, to be honest, I didn’t feel pain at all,” recalls Depp.

According to him, he felt something flowing, looked down and realized that the tip of his finger had been cut off.

“I looked directly at the bone and flesh sticking out of there, and the blood just flowed,” the actor said.

By his own admission, then he had a nervous breakdown, and he began to write in blood on the walls.

Later, an audio recording of the conversation between Depp and Heard was turned on in the courtroom.

In it, the actress persuades her husband not to cut himself.

Heard's lawyers also showed a video filmed by the actress secretly.

On it, Depp slams kitchen cabinet doors, breaks dishes and breaks other objects.

The actor confirmed that he “hit several cabinets” and emphasized that he did not touch his wife.

On another recording, Amber Heard admits that she hit her husband, but did no damage.

In a message that Johnny Depp sent to Amber Heard's father at the end of December 2015, he wrote: "Yes, I screwed up and went too far in our quarrel."

Depp again noted that the lyrics did not refer to a "physical fight".

Johnny Depp's childhood friend Isaac Baruch spoke at one of the hearings.

He stated that he witnessed the quarrels of the artists, but never saw cases of physical violence from Depp, and also did not see bruises on Heard's face.

Baruch met her the day after the couple's quarrel in May 2016.

Then the actress complained that Depp threw a phone at her and hit her, but there were no traces.

Also testifying during the trial was Dr. David Kipper, who was hired in 2014 to treat Depp for "opioid addiction."

Kipper noted that he never saw any violence between Depp and Heard.

However, in March 2015, the actor complained to the doctor about his wife and called her "mean, vicious and vindictive."

Later that month, Kipper received another message, which was read in court.

In it, Depp said that he had cut off the tip of his middle finger.

"What to do?

Go to the hospital?

I am so ashamed that I even started something with her, ”the artist wrote.

During one of the speeches, he called his ex-wife a trigger for a relapse and stated that she had borderline personality disorder.

Representatives of the cosmetic brand Milani Cosmetics also joined the lawsuit after their product was used as evidence.

Lawyer Amber Heard showed the court a palette of concealers with which the actress allegedly masked bruises.

Soon, information appeared on the brand's TikTok account that this product was not on sale during the period that Hurd is talking about - it was released in 2017, after the artists divorced.

Hearings on business proceed and will go six weeks.

James Franco and Elon Musk are expected to testify.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard met on the set of The Rum Diary in 2009 and got married in February 2015.

In the spring of 2016, problems began in the family - Heard called the rescue service and claimed that her husband used physical violence against her.

In August of the same year, the artists divorced, and in 2018, The Sun newspaper published an article stating that Depp beat Heard.

The actor sued the publication for libel and stated that he himself was a victim of domestic violence.

He failed to prove his case.
