The first firefighting training was held at the government office building in Otsuchi Town, Iwate Prefecture, where it became clear that no firefighting training had been conducted for 10 years after the move due to the Great East Japan Earthquake.

In Otsuchi-cho, the government office building at that time was completely destroyed by the Great East Japan Earthquake, and the government office was relocated, but it was not prepared a firefighting plan stipulated by law and firefighting training was not conducted even once for 10 years last month. It became clear.

According to the law, the town submitted a firefighting plan on the 29th of last month and conducted the first firefighting training after the move on the 26th.

About 200 people including staff participated in the training on the assumption that a fire broke out from the printing room on the 3rd floor of the government building.

At the start of the training, an emergency bell was rang, and I evacuated to the outside of the government building while talking to each other to see if there were any people who were late.

In addition, after receiving guidance from the fire department staff on what to do to prevent the damage from spreading, I actually operated the fire extinguisher and confirmed the initial fire extinguishing response.

Mayor Kozo Hirano said, "As Otsuchi Town, which lost many staff members in the earthquake, we must do what was set to protect the lives of staff members and townspeople. We will continue to protect our lives. We will continue to work on it. "

Based on this training, Otsuchi Town plans to verify issues and conduct training again in November.
