At Byodo-in Temple in Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture, which is registered as a World Heritage Site, more than 10,000 wisteria flowers are in full bloom.

In the precincts of Byodo-in Temple, there are about 400 square meters of wisteria shelves around four wisteria trees, which are said to be about 300 years old.

Due to the high temperature in early spring, the pale purple flowers began to bloom in the middle of this month, about a week earlier than usual, and about 12,000 bunches were in full bloom.

Visitors enjoyed the scent of wisteria flowers hanging about a meter and took pictures with the Phoenix Hall in the background.

A woman in her 70s who visited from Osaka said, "The wisteria flowers are very beautiful because of the fresh green color."

Byodoin's wisteria flowers are in full bloom until the end of this month.
