The reciter Sheikh Abd al-Rashid Sufi began his talk about the Book of God, and the merit of reciting it and memorizing it with the noble verse of Surat al-Rahman: “The Compassionate taught the Qur’an the creation of man..” and stated that God Almighty has prioritized the creation of the Qur’an over the creation of man.

He pointed out that God Almighty has extolled the praise of the Noble Qur’an and mentioned its bounty in many verses, “It is a glorious Qur’an” and “And We have given you seven of the repetitions and the Great Qur’an.” And from the glory of the Noble Qur’an is that it is bestowed only on those who submit to God Almighty, and give Him Glory be to His Majesty to the one who turns to Him and loves Him, and whoever is given the Qur’an has been given everything.

And about whether memorizing the Noble Qur’an is obligatory for the believers, Sheikh Al-Maqri said to the episode 25/2022 of the program “Shari’ah and Life in Ramadan” that God does not burden a soul beyond its capacity, and God Almighty did not embarrass the nation and did not obligate it to memorize all of His Book, and what He must memorize what the prayer is valid for, and whoever memorizes Surat Al-Fatihah only and recites it, his prayer is permissible, but memorizing the Qur’an - according to Sheikh Sufi - is an advantage that the Creator gave to whomever of His servants He willed, and it is a precious opportunity that does not exist in the Hereafter.

On the methods of memorizing the Holy Qur’an, the guest of the episode of the “Shari’a and Life in Ramadan” program spoke about his personal experience, and said that he memorized it within a month, and he was helped by that his father used to sit in Qur’an memorization sessions when he was under seven years old.

Methods of memorizing the Holy Quran

The specialist in the science of readings of the Qur’an stressed that the most helpful thing in memorizing the Qur’an is the frequent listening to it, persevering in Qur’anic episodes if available, and giving a person his time to memorize.

He said that memorization is of two types: a mental division, which is the absorption of what is memorized, which is very fast and also very fleeting, and the second division, which is permanent memorization, which is frequent repetition, that is, repetition of reading the Qur’an, indicating that the Holy Qur’an is the only book that you do not get tired of reading, and the more it repeats The person reading, found the sweetness of the Qur'an.

He advised all Muslims to seal the Holy Qur’an within a month and not to abandon it, and “no one abandons the Qur’an except for those who are insulting to God Almighty.” He also said that God Almighty did not specify a specific age for memorizing His Great Book, and everyone who wishes to do so should be a lover of the Holy Qur’an. And to ask God Almighty to facilitate.

And he identified the best times to memorize the Book of God during the night prayer or after dawn, and in general in free times and times of clear mind from being preoccupied with worldly matters.
