On the 25th, nursery school children released juvenile sweetfish into the river in Matsuno Town, Ehime Prefecture, so that children could feel the rich nature of the area.

The Hiromi River, which flows through Matsuno Town, is one of the tributaries of the Shimanto River, where eels and sweetfish are fished.

The local fishery cooperative releases juvenile sweetfish every year at this time to make children feel closer to the rich nature, and 18 kindergarten children were invited this year.

On the 25th, the river was a little muddy due to the rain on the 24th, but the children released about 8 cm of juvenile sweetfish into the river.

The children watched the sweetfish swimming in the river, calling out to them to grow up.

The children who participated said, "It was fun. I want to try again next year."

Koichi Takada, the head of the Hiromi River Fishery Cooperative, said, "The Hiromi River is a treasure-like river full of nature. We were able to release juvenile sweetfish with the hope that it would be a beautiful river forever." ..

About 1000 juvenile sweetfish were released on the 25th, and if they grow steadily, they will grow to about 15 cm in early June when the ban on sweetfish fishing is lifted.
