Before "Mother's Day" on the 8th of next month, shipments are at their peak in Toyokawa City, Aichi Prefecture, where carnations are produced.

In Toyokawa City, "pot carnations", in which carnations are cultivated in pots and shipped as they are, are popular, and 17 farmers ship about 500,000 pots annually.

Shipments have reached their peak before "Mother's Day" on the 8th of next month, and among them, Kinya Enomoto's agricultural house has colorful carnation pots such as red, pink, and yellow one by one. It was carefully packed in a bag.

According to the local JA, the size and color of the flowers are better than usual because the daylight hours were long and the climate was stable.

Mr. Enomoto said, "I had some difficulties such as bad weather, but I grew up smoothly. I want you to feel free to enjoy it."

Shipment of pot carnations will continue until early next month, and will be shipped to markets in the Kansai region as well as the Tokai region.
