Like all moms, Chris Rock's mom takes every attack on her son personally.
So when the comic was struck, live at the Oscars, by Will Smith, one of cinema's biggest stars, Rose Rock was deeply shocked.
After several weeks to recover from her emotions, mom Rock decided to react in an interview for the local American channel WIS News.
“When he hit Chris, he hit us all.
But above all he struck me.
When you hurt my son, you hurt me, ”she explained, still affected.
Very proud of her son's attitude afterwards
In the interview, Rose Rock reveals in any case that her son is fine and that he is gradually recovering from the incident and that she is very proud of his attitude afterwards, when he resumed the presentation of the ceremony without blinking.
She does, however, have a few words to say to Will Smith.
“You reacted to your wife who looked at you askance and you made her happy, she was laughing when it happened,” she said, before continuing on what she would have done if she had been in place of the Academy of Oscars (which banned Will Smith from ceremonies for 10 years).
“I wouldn't take his award away from him, and I don't see how they could have let him out without disrupting the evening.
But I feel really bad that he never apologized.
I mean his team wrote a post saying 'I apologize to Chris Rock' but when something personal happens like this we reach out, do it personally…” Rose Rock concluded .
