The Fuzhou Research Base of the China-Portugal Cultural Heritage Conservation Science "Belt and Road" Joint Laboratory has been listed at the Fujian Institute of Technology in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, which is the latest development.

  Zheng Guozhen, vice president of the Chinese Society of Cultural Relics, told reporters on the 25th that Portugal and China have long-term cooperation in the declaration and protection of world cultural heritage, and they are known for their origins.

  Wu Yongfa, Director of the Joint Laboratory and Dean of the School of Architecture of Soochow University, pointed out that Fujian is an important starting point of the Maritime Silk Road. The establishment of the Fuzhou Research Base can promote the research, inheritance and protection of Fujian's cultural heritage resources by Fujian universities and related research institutions, and further develop Fuzhou's role as a Radiation effect of “One Belt, One Road” hub cities.

  The special geographical environment and long and complex immigration history of Fujian Province have given birth to a very diverse local architectural culture, which is the forefront of studying the regional culture of Fujian and Taiwan.

In recent years, Fujian Institute of Technology has participated in the protection and development of famous historical and cultural cities, towns, villages and historical and cultural blocks in Fujian Province, and has rich experience.

  Wei Jiangang, vice president of Fujian Institute of Technology, said that the Fuzhou Research Base will be built into an international Silk Road research base with open exchanges, resource sharing and complementary advantages, as well as a technological platform for the protection and scientific development of cultural heritage along the “Belt and Road”.

  At present, Chinese and foreign cultural heritage conservation experts and Fujian-Taiwan culture research scholars from universities and research institutions such as Fujian Institute of Technology, Soochow University, Xiamen University, Fuzhou University, Fujian Normal University, Quanzhou Museum, Quanzhou Overseas Transportation History Museum, etc., have respectively focused on Fujian and Taiwan. Special reports and discussions were made on the characteristics of ancient buildings, the protection and management of the world cultural heritage in Quanzhou, and the protection of the Silk Road heritage in the Arab region.
