A British woman does an incredible thing to not give up her "precious" cat.

A British woman married her beloved cat in a formal ceremony last week, fearing that future landlords would separate her from her "precious" cat, after she was previously forced to give up another cat and two dogs.

Deborah Hodge, a 49-year-old mother of two, says landlords' failure to allow pets on their property has already forced her to rehouse three animals.

Deborah married 5-year-old moggy India last Tuesday in a civil ceremony where her friends saw her in a southeast London park.

Deborah, an unemployed single mother, wore an elegant tuxedo to the ceremony presided over by an animal lover friend.

"I have nothing to lose (...) so I married my cat!" said Deborah.

She added, “It was my intention that I would never separate from the animal I adore.” Deborah claims that her owner, on a previous property, threatened her with eviction if she kept her animals.

So she moved into her current home five years ago and had to give up her ex, who she says "completely broke my heart".

According to the "Daily Star"

Deborah was then able to plead with her current owner to allow another cat, but after she lost her job on March 17 and with the rent due on May 1 she fears she will soon be evicted.

The bride adds that by marrying her cat, "I want to tell any future owners that we came as one family and we cannot be separated under any circumstances."
