The fiction film filmed live, on the theme of the second for the presidential election in a secret place in a village in Lot-et-Garonne, was broadcast on Sunday evening, on Arte.tv and in around thirty cinemas in France.

A challenge for the film crew, because they learned at the same time as the French about the re-election of Emmanuel Macron.

The story takes place on a certain Sunday, April 24, 2022: two brothers, in the cold, meet in their village in Lot-et-Garonne to go and vote.

It's 7 p.m.: the camera turns on, the film begins with a scene in a car, where the radio talks about this second round.

Félix Moati and Julien Campani play their text, in a very real context.

"There is no improvisation, only a few different windows depending on the news," says Florent Peiffer, the film's producer.

"We even have a plan that happens during the counting in the town hall, the real counting of this presidential election," he adds.

Everything will be done in one take

The challenge will be daunting for the actors, but also for the technical team: to produce a single sequence shot, with no other shots possible, nor any catch-up in the event of a retransmission error.

"It's going to be a real choreographic ballet. But the experience is based on that: someone who's going to watch the film knows that like him, the actors don't know who's going to be the elected president, and that's going to create a complicity between the film crew and the viewer", explains Florent Peiffer.

Few cameras, many different sets, 90 extras, who are also waiting to find out and one last unknown: the weather.
