Two men, aged 18 and 24, claim to have been "stung" during an outing to night establishments in the city on Saturday April 9, said the public prosecutor of Périgueux Solène Belaouar, confirming information from France Blue.
Two bite marks on thigh and abdomen
According to the prosecutor, the two men, who did not feel a sting during the evening, felt "very tired" the night and the following days, and after "suggestions" coming from friends informed of similar cases publicized elsewhere in France, discovered two traces of bites on the thigh for one and the abdomen for the other, deciding them to file a complaint three days after the facts.
No trace of narcotics was found during the first toxicological analyses, indicated the prosecution, which calls on people suspecting bites during an evening "to go immediately to the nearest hospital center" and "not to give in to psychosis while remaining vigilant".

Similar cases of bites were reported on Saturday during concerts at the Printemps de Bourges and recently in nightclubs, notably in Béziers, Grenoble or Nantes.
In Nantes, 43 facts have been brought to the attention of the police since mid-February, according to the prosecution.
"No screening has revealed the presence of GHB (nicknamed "the date rape drug") or other toxic substances," said prosecutor Renaud Gaudeul on Friday, who said that no suspect had been arrested.
