The Mufti of Jordan: It is not permissible to give zakat to another country unless there is not a single poor person left in the country

The Grand Mufti of Jordan, Sheikh Abd al-Karim al-Khasawneh, said that a Muslim should be careful and sure how to spend alms and zakat.

He added, in an interview with the official "Jordanian TV", today, that alms and zakat must be spent in the same country as the Muslim who gives charity or pays zakat.

And he indicated that it is not permissible to pay zakat from Jordan to another country unless there is not a single poor person left in Jordan.
