The most important ritual of the opening of the Zenkoji Temple in Nagano City, "Chunichi Niwa Gidaihoyo," was held on the 23rd.

The "Chunichi Niwa Gidai Hosho" ceremony at Zenkoji Temple in Nagano City is held twice for each sect to honor the "Maedachihonzon", which is open to the public as a substitute for the principal image.

On the 23rd, the Jodo sect's memorial service was held with fewer attendees than before as a measure against the new corona.

While the whistle of the musicians echoed in the precincts, the monks who wore glittering rituals slowly proceeded to the vicinity of the turning pillar (Ekobashira), which was tied to the main idol by a rope.

Then, when the monks were hung with a colorful vermilion umbrella, Takatsukasa Seigyokushonin, the chief priest of the Daihongan priest, read the sutra.

After that, in order to purify the place and welcome the Buddha, colorful paper "Sange" in the shape of the petals of a lotus was sprinkled.

Many worshipers held hands and took pictures while watching the gorgeous memorial service unfolding in front of them.

A woman who visited with her friend from Saitama said, "I'm glad I saw a strict memorial service that I can't usually see. I wished for my wife's safety and the convergence of Corona."
