Health Detected the first case of salmonella in Spain related to Kinder eggs
Health Spain investigates the first case of salmonellosis due to contaminated Kinder products
The Minister of Health,
Julio García Comesaña
, has reported that the first case of salmonellosis
has been confirmed in Galicia
in a child, belonging to the Lugo health area, which "fits" with the
existing health alert
in relation to the
consumption of eggs kindergarten
.
The councilor has indicated that
there are also two other suspected cases
of salmonellosis in the Galician community that are under study.
However, he stresses that
the child "is fine"
, "in perfect condition", in a case that occurred two weeks ago and was confirmed last Friday.
Regarding the other two alleged suspects,
the samples have been sent to the Ministry of Health
to be analyzed at the
National Center for Microbiology.
However,
García Comesaña
has wanted to send a "calm message", since it is
a pathology
that derives from this infection that, "fortunately, is controlled".
He asks that the products of these batches not be consumed
, although the logistics chain is
removing
them thanks to the work of the health authorities so that "there are no more Galicians" infected.
The
Ministry of Health
recalls that the General Directorate of Public Health issued a notice to the health areas and the territorial headquarters with the scope of the
alert
and the action procedure.
Within the framework of surveillance actions,
the active search for related cases
was included , in addition to the withdrawal of corresponding batches.
