forged the sound of hardcore rap and reaffirmed the creative capacity of the East Coast rap scene.
The artists who make up the group went on to produce affiliated projects that supported its influence on hip-hop for decades,” reads a statement from the Library of Congress relayed by Music-News.
Honoring classics
The Wu-Tang Clan album is not the only musical work to have received this honor, however.

Ellington at Newport
, The Shirelles
' Tonight's the Night , Terry Riley's

and the legendary Buena Vista Social Club album received the same treatment.
