Earlier, as dawn broke behind her, Harmonie Bataka was making wide curves down a suburban road on the outskirts of Accra, the capital of Ghana.

It was empty there except for a few scattered people who went to church early.

Until a year ago, 27-year-old Harmonie Bataka could only skateboard on Sundays, when the streets were quiet and she wasn't working.

That was before she quit her job last year to pursue the sport she loves full-time, to the dismay of friends and family.

Since then, the skate park has become something of a second home.

And not just for harmony - for many young women, the skate park has become an important place.

There is a great sense of togetherness among the girls and women who meet in the skate park.

They motivate and learn from each other, equally enjoy skating, but also just like to hang out together.
