CNN is ending CNN+, its streaming service launched just a month ago with the backing of millions of euros in investment.

This abandonment comes in the recent context of merger between Warner Media, the parent company of CNN, and Discovery.

A merger that creates a media juggernaut.

Just a month and then goes.

CNN+, the streaming service of the American media CNN, will close a few weeks after its launch.

A bitter failure for the platform which was nevertheless to breathe new life into CNN.

It was Discovery, the new owner of the American news channel, who made this decision.

Tens of millions of dollars had yet been invested in this new platform.

CNN + had also recruited Chris Wallas, a star political journalist in the United States, famous for his interviews.

Simplifying the Warner Bros Discovery streaming offer

This abandonment comes exactly 10 days after the merger of Warner Media, the parent company of CNN, with Discovery.

This merger gave birth to a streaming giant: Warner Bros. Discovery.

Discovery streaming boss Jean-Briac Perrette justified the shutdown decision by saying that "in a complex streaming market, consumers want simplicity and an all-inclusive service that offers a better experience and more benefits than stand-alone offers.

CNN+ will be permanently shut down on April 30.
