The host Tex did not win his case on Wednesday after his dismissal from the show "Z'amours" in 2017, a dismissal he considered "abusive".

The former presenter of the France 2 show had been dismissed after uttering a sexist joke about domestic violence on the C8 channel.

It's a new judicial failure for Tex.

The former host of

Z'amours

on France 2 had filed a complaint for unfair dismissal, but did not win his case in court.

He demanded 1.2 million euros from the producer of the show who had decided, in 2017, to oust him from the program after a sexist joke on domestic violence that he had pronounced on C8.

Tex had then justified what he saw as a touch of humor in a number of

Z'amours

, but the host was dismissed for serious misconduct.

A violation of the charter

After the Labor Court and the Court of Appeal, this time it was up to the Court of Cassation to judge Tex's dismissal legitimate.

The Court delivered its verdict on Wednesday and considers in its judgment that "the charter of the television channel in charge of broadcasting the program required it not to promote gender-based violence, regardless of the media in which it would appear".

In the press release, the court clarified that by this decision, it did not consider that a comedian did not have the right to make such a joke on television.
