As the first written exams of the Baccalaureate 2022 approach, a tiny part of those who hope to win it will come from alternative educational streams: micro high schools, "new chance" high schools... or self-managed high schools, like that of Paris, founded in 1982 "to offer an alternative to the traditional education system" and which today has 240 students.

A high school where students and teachers share the tasks

Free and funded by National Education, the “LAP” (Self-managed Lycée of Paris) welcomes all kinds of profiles: “Some refuse their school orientation, others want alternative methods, specifies Stéphanie, history-geo teacher.

But there are also those who are terribly anxious about the traditional school, those who are there out of political commitment… and those who just want to try something else at some point.

In addition to the lessons they attend, the high school students participate in the smooth running of their establishment: "students and teachers take care of all the tasks since there is no real administration, no cleaning staff or people make food," explains Margot.

Zoé, she appreciates that "the voice of a student counts as much as that of a teacher".
