The bats of Landeleau (Finistère) are doing well.
Like every year, volunteers from the Breton mammalian group have identified the colony that lives in the church of the town, reports

.
This year, enthusiasts were able to observe the flight of several hundred adult bats.
A hundred young people, not yet ready to go on an adventure, were counted in the attic of the church.
A winter in the woods
The commune of Landeleau is home to two species of bats: greater horseshoe bats and geek-eared bats.
The females settle each year under the roof of the church to give birth and nurse their young.
During the winter, the whole colony moves to a place more favorable to the temperatures.
Breton bats thus take up residence in an old gallery located in a wood in the region in order to hibernate in the warmth.
