  Shaanxi Archaeological Museum is a large-scale comprehensive archaeological research institution integrating archaeological excavation, scientific research, cultural relics protection, and educational display. It is based on the development of archaeological disciplines and takes the relics unearthed from the archaeological excavation site as the display object to display to the public. Archaeological investigation, exploration, excavation and site conservation, laboratory restoration, archaeological research of cultural relics and museums reflecting the history of the development of archaeology.

Relying on the research results of archaeological excavations in Shaanxi in the past 100 years and the more than 200,000 cultural relics unearthed, the Shaanxi Archaeological Museum comprehensively reveals the great significance of archaeological work "exploring the unknown and revealing the origin". The history of civilization development is a special museum that reflects the development and evolution of archaeological work concepts, technologies and methods in different historical stages.

  Shaanxi Archaeological Museum is located in the south of Zhoujiazhuang Village, Guodu Street, Chang'an District, Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, with Qinling Mountains in the south and Xiangji Temple in the east. The total construction area is more than 36,000 square meters.

The Shaanxi Archaeological Museum has created a pattern of "one museum and four centers" of museums, cultural relics protection centers, scientific and technological archaeological centers, library and information centers, and public archaeological centers, opening up the entire chain of disciplines from archaeological excavation to protection, research, interpretation, display, and dissemination. .

  The main building of the Shaanxi Archaeological Museum is more than 10,700 square meters, with an indoor exhibition area of ​​5,800 square meters and an outdoor exhibition area of ​​10,000 square meters.

The exhibition hall has three floors, displaying 5,215 pieces of cultural relics in 4,218 groups.

The permanent exhibition is themed on "Archaeological Holy Land Huazhang Shaanxi" and is divided into four chapters: "Archaeological History", "Cultural Genealogy", "Archaeological Discoveries" and "Cultural Protection Technology".

Outdoors, there are field archaeology theme display area, past dynasties brick display area, ceramic stone carving cultural relic display area, etc.

  The Shaanxi Archaeological Museum will be open to the public on a trial basis from April 28 to July 31, 2022.
