Security forces have arrested one of the world's largest drug dealers in Mexico.

Together with Mexican, British and US authorities, Colombia's police have located the Colombian drug lord Eduard Giraldo aka "Boliqueso", police director Jorge Luis Vargas wrote on Twitter on Wednesday evening (local time).

Accordingly, Giraldo was brought to Colombia and informed of the extradition request to the United States.

According to the Colombian police, he controlled the traffic in cocaine to Central America, Europe, the USA and the United Arab Emirates in the past.

"Boliqueso" was arrested in Brazil in 2016, but was released after two years without restrictions.

While legendary drug lord Pablo Escobar liked to flaunt his wealth, Eduard Giraldo, like Dairo Úsuga aka "Otoniel", who was arrested in Colombia last year, belonged to a generation of drug lords that prefers to stay under the radar whenever possible.
