Al-Qassam, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), in anticipation of the start of the battle of "Sword of Jerusalem 2".
Will the Palestinian resistance repeat the scenario of the "Sword of Jerusalem" battle, especially since the context of the current events is very similar to the context of the events that preceded them?
What other options do the Palestinians have?
The resistance is the trump card that the Palestinian people have owned for 80 years, and it is the strongest pressure card that destabilizes the Zionist entity, refutes its claims, and destroys its myths that preoccupy the world.
The Palestinian people will not give up this card no matter how long it takes, and no matter what the sacrifices may be.
On these days last year, Palestinian confrontations erupted in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque over the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood issue, which ended with a qualitative military escalation by the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip for the first time in its history, on the tenth of May last year, when it rained In it, the Zionist entity, with showers of mostly homemade missiles, hit many of its cities and regions, while the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) called it the “Sword of Jerusalem” battle, and after 11 days the confrontation stopped, with Egyptian mediation, after the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip were lost. More than 200 martyrs, and the Zionist entity incurred more than 13 deaths.
A year of failure
Before the end of the first year since the “Sword of Jerusalem” battle, which needs special preparations to celebrate it, on the Palestinian, Arab and Islamic levels, and before we witness the occurrence of “Sword of Jerusalem 2”, it is necessary to take an inventory of what was achieved in the wake of “Sword of Jerusalem 1” on the Over the course of a year, despite the exceptionality of the battle, and the quality of the direct results that resulted from it, despite the great opportunities it provided to the Palestinian people, and despite the promises, hopes and gains that the Palestinian people were waiting for at home and abroad, nothing of them was achieved, especially on the following levels:
Palestinian division
The division remains unchanged, despite all the negative consequences it has on the political and organizational reality of the Palestinian people, especially between the two largest organizations in the Palestinian arena: the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah) and Hamas.
This has led to the continued failure of efforts to hold presidential and parliamentary elections that might move the Palestinian political situation a little forward, or at least shift it from the place where it stagnated years ago.
Cooperation of the Palestinian Authority with the Zionist entity
The Palestinian Authority, led by President Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen), still insists on political and security cooperation with the governments of the Zionist entity, which does not appreciate this role of the Palestinian Authority at all. The violence of confrontations, arrests, incursions, settlements, land confiscation, attacks on farms, and the high number of victims of confrontations... Something changes from it, in appreciation of the Zionist entity's insistence on standing by its side.
If the Palestinian Authority dealt with the issue of internal division and reconciliation with Hamas in the same spirit that it deals with the Zionist entity, the division would have ended years ago.
Absence of the Palestinian national political project
The Palestinian Authority is still clinging to the illusion of a two-state solution that is not recognized by the Zionist entity, and as an inevitable result of the split between Fatah and Hamas, all attempts and efforts being made to reform Palestinian political institutions and agree on a joint Palestinian national political project to liberate Palestine, all of them - unfortunately - have come to naught. Failure, and this led to the Palestinian movement continuing with all its sacrifices adrift.
Continued progress of the "Abraham" project
The owners of the Zionist “Abraham Accords” project are preparing to celebrate the joining of a new group of Arab and Islamic countries to the project, while the countries that joined the agreement, such as the UAE, Bahrain and Morocco, have made advanced strides, exceeding the limits of perceptions, in the procedures, activities and agreements of normalization with the state of the Zionist entity in all fields , without regard to the impact of this on the Palestinian cause, which seemed to them as if it had never existed.
Palestinian regional and international failure
The state of political division that the Palestinian scene suffers from, has led to the failure to benefit from the successes of the “Sword of Jerusalem” in strengthening the political position and increasing pressure on the Zionist entity and the Western countries supporting it. A wonderful and rare opportunity from the victories of the Palestinian resistance.

In light of this catastrophic political failure of the Palestinian Authority, and after that the Palestinian political, union, social and civil forces, the Palestinians have no choice but to continue the resistance, and escalate it without borders, as a third option, due to the failure of the two-state solution, and the current lack of opportunity for a one-state solution.
This third option will achieve many benefits for the Palestinian people, foremost of which are the following:
Confirmation that the main party in the Arab-Palestinian conflict is the Palestinian people, who will not give up their legitimate rights, regardless of the extent of international prejudice and Arab inaction, and that they will not allow the passage of any settlement or liquidation projects at the expense of their rights.
Confirmation that the resistance is the trump card owned by the Palestinian people for 80 years, and that it is the strongest pressure card that destabilizes the Zionist entity, refutes its allegations, and destroys its myths that preoccupy the world.
And that the Palestinian people will not give up this card no matter how long it takes, and no matter what the sacrifices may be.
Putting the stick in the cart of normalization, standing in the face of the next stages of the "Abraham Accords" project, emphasizing that these agreements are doomed to failure, no matter how much the sponsoring and partner countries efforts in this project, and emphasizing that the project will only pass on the bodies of the Palestinian people.
Continuous warning to the international community that the Palestinian cause is a top priority, and that the Palestinian people have not forgotten their cause, have not relinquished their rights, and that they will continue their resistance to the Zionist entity and its crimes, no matter how much their support for it, and their cover-up.
In a previous article, after the battle of the "Sword of Jerusalem", about a year ago, I suggested the entry of the Palestinian people into a third open intifada, and if some of the rust-eaten Palestinian leaders had failed the Palestinian people, the hot blood that runs in the veins of the renewed youth is capable of igniting This intifada, which will not only be against the Zionist occupation and its settlers, but against all internal and external obstacles that prevent reaching final solutions to the tragedy of the Palestinian people.
This third intifada will be against the “Oslo” agreements and the two-state solution, against the Palestinian Authority that has been rusted and paralyzed by corruption and imaginary gains, and against the Palestinian division, which has become a shame that cannot be tolerated more than that, and against Arab lethargy and official criminal inability, and against the international community and its institutions and their failure to The right of the Palestinian cause, and its duplicity in favor of the Zionist entity, and against the “Abraham Accords” and its future projects.
Political calculations and their gains may hinder such steps, but the obstruction of the horizon, and the difficulty of alternatives and options, do not leave the Palestinian people and their true forces much time to think, especially since the Palestinian people in all cases present daily of their children, their blood and their life as the price of inaction, hesitation, retreat and wrong choices.
