As Russia's military invasion of Ukraine continued, an exhibition of works by domestic and foreign manga artists began in Kyoto on the 21st to call for peace through manga.

This exhibition, which started at the "Kyoto International Manga Museum," was organized by Yukio Shinohara, chairman of the Japan Chapter of the World Cartoonists Federation, in order to show his intention to oppose the military invasion of Ukraine.

When we solicited works, 170 works were collected from manga artists from 13 countries including Ukraine, and 100 of them are displayed on the coin lockers of the museum.

Of these, the work of a Canadian cartoonist depicts how the Ukrainian flag is covered with the Russian flag by a fastener with a series of tanks.

In addition, a work called "Bouquetos" by a Japanese manga artist depicts three women reaching for a bouquet launched from the muzzle of a black gun.

Yukio Shinohara, who planned the event, said, "There are various ways of thinking and expressions depending on the country or region, but I want you to feel the common desire to raise your voice."

The exhibition will be held at the "Kyoto International Manga Museum" in Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto until the 16th of next month.
