The Planetarium Center in Moscow announced that residents of several regions of the Earth will be able to see a distinctive astronomical phenomenon on Friday.

And a statement issued by the center said: "On the night of Friday, April 22, residents of several regions of the Earth will be able to witness the phenomenon of the unique Lyrid meteor shower," according to what was reported by Russian media.


The statement also stated, "This year, the peak of the aforementioned meteor showers will coincide with the moon's approaching the last quarter stage, and under these conditions, and if the sky is clear, people will be able to watch this phenomenon almost all night long. According to the estimates of the International Meteorite Station, observing this Lyrid phenomenon In the year, they will be able to see about 18 meteors falling in the sky every hour."


Residents of the northern regions of the globe can see the Lyrids phenomenon clearly every year, between April 16 and 25, and meteors appear in the Earth’s sky as a result of the approach of its atmosphere to meteor clouds, which contain meteor debris burning in the atmosphere while in contact with gases.
