At Narita Airport, a turtle got into the runway and the operation was hindered, so the airport side decided to exterminate the turtle in the pond, and on the 20th, a trap was set up to catch it.

The trap was set up using a net that is 1 meter deep in both length and width, and when the turtle climbs up the board attached to the gimmick to dry the shell, it falls into the net.

At Narita Airport, turtles that entered the runway from the pond on the premises were found one after another, and in September of last year, the runway had to be temporarily closed, so it was decided to remove it.

On the 20th, a commissioned expert entered the pond and used ropes to set up a total of four traps.

According to the airport company, there are hundreds of exotic turtles living in the pond, and we are planning to collect traps once or twice a month for extermination.

Satoshi Shirai of the Runway Maintenance Department of Narita Airport Corporation said, "We would like to promote this initiative and strive to ensure that the aircraft can operate safely."
