Stricter regulations for our four-legged friends.

The municipality of Ault (Somme) recently decided that all dogs should be kept on a leash in the municipality, reports L'Eclaireur.

Two decrees have come to regulate the circulation of canines in the town of Ault and in the Bois de Cise.

The first obliges the owners of so-called “dangerous” dogs to keep their animal on a leash in the wooded area.

They must also be muzzled.

The second decree obliges dogs to be kept on a leash when they circulate on the roads open to traffic, as well as on the public and private areas of the municipality.

Failure to comply with these rules can result in a fine ranging from 38 to 150 euros.

The mayor of Ault, Marcel Le Moigne, took this decision after a dog attacked a donkey a few days ago in the town.

The animal entered a pen and bit the equine, seriously injuring it.

“It could have been a child”, justified the city councilor.
