Anger is rising among the employees of the Atlantic shipyards, in Saint-Nazaire.

At the initiative of the CGT, a call for a walkout was launched for this Thursday, and a rally is planned for the morning in front of door 4, near the locksmith workshop.

This is where about three weeks ago a serious work accident occurred.

The firefighters intervened after the explosion of a pocket of gas, seriously injuring a worker, aged around sixty.

According to the CGT, the man would have even lost part of his leg.

The union today denounces “a dilapidated workshop with a gas network with rusty pipes”.

For the CGT, "nothing is under control"

, the site management indicates that "internal and judicial investigations are underway to find the cause of the incident".

While waiting for the results, and without stopping the production of the workshop, “the necessary measures have been taken to secure the site, and all the networks have been checked”.

For its part, the CGT believes that “nothing is yet under control” arguing that “several torches have burst since”.

It asks for information “on the state of the network or the frequency of its maintenance”.
